Andrew "Andy" brings an extensive background in user experience design to the Chasm team. His experience spans more than 17 years. From conducting user research and designing and evaluating user experiences, to devising information architecture and establishing how to efficiently implement the UX design function in both large and small organizations, Andy’s skills within the UX specialty are far-reaching.
As a young professional, Andy started out as a technical writer, writing user documentation for software developed for the healthcare industry. It was during this time that he started noticing a trend. He noticed that the user documentation he was writing was in support of how to use software that seemed to be designed without the user in mind. In response, Andy began to refocus his efforts from technical writing to advocating for users through the use of intentional, user-centered research and design methods.
When Andy is not solving complex user problems by designing delightful experiences, you will likely find him kayaking on the water, biking a trail, and/or camping in nature.
