As a Florida native, growing up in Gainesville, Emily started her journey to a career in user experience design studying journalism as an undergrad. Her natural curiosity then led her to explore instructional design and then shifted to web design and finally user experience. She explains her path to designing user experiences as life’s way of fine tuning her career to her love for being curious, asking questions, and making the complex simpler.
Today, Emily is a UX designer passionate about solving problems, and is energized by usability testing and learning how users think. She has an analytical thought process, is not afraid to challenge the status quo, and has a knack for finding the balance between function and beauty through her designs.
She also brings an operational strength to the Chasm team with previous experience implementing process for UX teams to better meet objectives and timelines.
Emily’s curious nature also fuels her life outside of her professional career, with travelling to new places as a great passion. She also enjoys chocolate and coffee, wrapping beautiful gifts (gift bags are never an option), and spending as much time as possible with her husband, Chris.
